EHDS, for a Data-driven Health Transformation

09H15 - 15H00

Description of the event

The European Parliament has just adopted the European Health Data Space (EHDS), a key pillar of the European Health Union. The agreement reached is of utmost importance for better healthcare for citizens, for transformative data-driven research and innovation and the development of a more personalised medicine.

Understanding this groundbreaking regulation and the health data scenario it will open is crucial for researchers, innovators, patients, policymakers and society. To this end, BiocatScanBaltthe Council of European BioRegions and Health Cluster Portugalthe EDAH project consortium, and with the support of the Flemish Government, Sciensano and SITRA, organise a conference “EHDS, for a data-driven health innovation” in the framework of the Belgium Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The activity will be a side event of the high-level Conference on Personalised Medicine -organised by the Flemish Government and taking place on the 28th and 29th of May. It will update the state of the EHDS, connecting it to EU-wide initiatives like TEHDAS, EP Permed or 1 Million Genomes. It will discuss scenarios of implementation of EHDS with examples and good practices at the Member State or Regional level, highlighting opportunities for advancing personalised treatments in both public and private research areas.

The panelists are top representatives of European Institutions, industry, academia, healthcare and policymaking. We invite you to join the event and the discussion with leading experts in the field to explore the challenges and opportunities of the EHDS.

The event is organised as a hybrid event and the online participation information will be sent after registration before the event.
